As summer comes to a close...

Its been a downright hot summer filled with steaming piles of global drama...but the fish have not held back one bit. Infact, this summer has been amazing with many of the typical sierra spots fishing more than outstanding. No rain and high temperatures have brought us back to wildfires and high water temps. Deadly and dangerous for travel and survival of a caught fish. Short early sessions are being had by some but others have just laid off of some of the more popular stretches. Hoppers and caddis nymph droppers....stimulators and mayfly emergers have done well in most waters.

Alpine lakes have done great despite minimal snow pack, stillwater lakes in lower elevations have kicked out some great fish. Spring creeks with cold flows, wet wading and dry droppers has been very productive.

Look for baitfish patterns, crawfish and other small meat patterns to start producing some larger fish as the weather cools and the browns start staging shallow waters. Crowds continue to hammer the sierra and wherever you travel, make sure to bring an extra trash bag to pack out anything you can hunt down along the journey. We are booking up through September and we still have a couple weekends available in October. Reach out if you have any questions or need any information. were just a call/email away. Stay safe and tight lines.
