Spring Report

Crowley Lake has been super hot from the 24' boat. We have been pulling 30-40 fish in a full day and an average of 10-15 fish per fisherman. Midges in 15' of water have been producing browns, cutthroat and rainbow trout. A few scattered Sacramento perch have been around too. The East Walker has been producing beautiful rainbows and browns. Flows are very good at 235cfs. Middle Owens has been better with the stable flows. (Currently 200cfs) Wading good in the wild trout section and plenty of browns caught nymphing and on hopper droppers. The Upper Owens has been crowded but always produces some quality brown trout. There are a few cutthroat that have moved up along with some catchable rainbows; but numbers are low for now and should pick up in a few seeks. NOW is the time to book for these monster red fish 4-6 lbs bening common. Water conditions are excellent in both locations and fish are very active and feeding. Hot Creek has been a sure ticket with fish sipping dries and readily eating midegs and nymphs. These fiosh are smaller and very fragile. Please handl;e with care and DO NOT wade hot creek.

Bridgeport Reservoir is producing rainbows during the nicer weather and looking to be one of the better fisheries in the sierra this season. Silver/Grant Lakes kicking out good numbers of stockers, with a few quality browns. Rush creek has been slow but should be picking up as the spring run off clears.
